About CSS

Brazilian band CSS bind indie-rock with dance-punk and were major players in the nu-rave revolution of the mid-00s. Their name is an initialism for Cansei de Ser Sexy meaning “tired of being sexy in Portuguese.

CSS released four albums, starting with a 2005 eponymous debut plus further titles Donkey (2008) La Liberación (2011) Planta (2013) before splitting up. The group have now reformed and include Lovefoxxx (vocals), Luiza Sá (guitar, keys, drums), Ana Rezende (guitar, harmonica) and Carolina Parra (guitar, drums).

Fantastic Show - Lovefoxxx is still a superstar

Gorilla is one of my favourite venues in Manchester anyway, so was happy when the gig was moved there. Was seeing them for the first time since 2011, on what is probably their last tour. The set list was full of their classic hits, and the whole band looked like they were having a great time. Highlight was definitely 'Alala', where Lovefoxxx crowdsurfed through the audience. Hope they'll be back, but if not, an amazing send off
