Connecticut rapper Akua Naru fuses soul and jazz into her hip hop beats. She has a massive presence in Europe.
In 2011, Naru dropped her debut EP Poetry: How Does It Feel?. She has also released albums The Journey Aflame (2011), The Miner's Canary (2015) and The Blackest Joy (2018) plus live record The Live & Aflame Sessions (2012).
