Al Stewart is a Scottish singer-songwriter, renowned for his fusion of folk and rock, often weaving historical and literary themes into his music. He gained international fame with the hit single "Year of the Cat" from the album Year of the Cat (1976), followed by other well-known songs like "Time Passages." Starting his career in the 1960s, Stewart has released numerous albums, including Past, Present and Future (1973) and Sparks of Ancient Light (2008). He has performed at prestigious venues worldwide and toured with artists like Linda Ronstadt and Alan Parsons, establishing himself as a unique voice in folk-rock.

First let me say The Empty Pockets were brilliant.Probably the first time I have enjoyed a support act.Ericas voice is wonderful. Al was superb.A great mix of well known and not so well known songs.And his little asides between songs entertained.The performance of ‘Year of the Cat’ was particularly outstanding.Would have liked to hear ‘ Lord Grenville’ but you can’t have everything. Quite liked the intimacy of the Tramshed too.
