AMAZING!
I've found Bjork's music less 'accessible' of late although I think she is extremely creative and exciting - always exploring new avenues of expression and just so much more than simply a musician who performs live and makes CDs. She is truly an artist with a real vision. So, although the music didn't move me as much as I'd have liked it formed an integral part of an amazing spectacle. The visuals were truly extraordinary - I've never seen anything quite like it. It was as if those light shows so familiar in San Francisco during performances by the psychedelic bands of that brief period in the 60's had been developed and refined for the 21st century. Truly 'mindblowing' - not just a cliche! Add to that Bjork's own costumes, her various accompanists (including Manu Delago), Greta Thunberg's video message and I was left moved and grateful to have had the opportunity to witness and experience such an amazing event. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better I managed to get to Haggerston in East London to immerse myself in the Virtual Reality Experience designed by Bjork herself. Nothing less than an extension of the previous night's experience. Absolutely stunning! I'm still savouring the experience - a truly unforgettable two days in London. Thank you, Bjork - for everything!
