50 years later
Top musicians, historical moments, discovery's, meeting gentle people, making new friends, getting connected!
I was at the festivals in the 70ths. The time that we were standing in a row for breakfast together with the musicians. No VIP's at that time!
The festival remained it's friendly, respectful character. The so well organised shuttle, the ways accessible for wheelchairs, this is something new.
I loved the Banjoy Goddesses with Leila McCalla, Peggy Seeger and Nora Brown. So interesting!!! Finally you learn a little bit about the instrument and the musicians!
I was deeply touched by Peggy Seeger. Her humour, her never ending social engagement, the power of this women of 89! Tears when she sung "The first time"...
Young, passionate and very professional were Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman. (What a pity that The music in stage 1 was so loud that it really disturbed the banjo and fiddle sound on stage 2!)
And then of course Ralph McTell with his strong warm voice and warm personality. His songs are still social relevant, poetical musical stories .
I enjoyed every minute of his concert! Just a man and his guitar! STRONG!
Niall McCabe was a discovery. What a beautiful voice!!
The Oysterband, for ever young!
Sangjaru sounded like Korean punk. Strange sound at a folk festival. Ear protection recommended!
Robert Plant and Saving Grace interesting combination.
Fantastic Negrito : to loud!! Folk?
Flamy Grant with a beautiful voice and songs
suggestions: After a concert I prefer to enjoy a little bit longer of what I heard before. Some silence in the tent makes you better prepared to the next concert. A request for silent moments between two groups.
Thank you for the beautiful festival!
