Incredible musicianship
I don't know how Carl continues to play at such a level, but I guess it must be down to technique rather than pure effort, although I'm sure a lot of effort is also required! Where he found the guitarist and bass player I don't know, but they are amongst a handful of the best I've ever seen and heard. ELPs music was played with passion and joy and made it a joyful experience for me, and it appeared the majority of the audience. I did miss vocals at times and was forced to sing along myself which is never a good thing. Only minor blot was rendition of 21st Century Schizoid Man. Not sure why this was included in the set and it wasn't as tight as it might have been. Tarkus was brilliant, as were all the ELP numbers. A most enjoyable evening, thanks Carl for keeping the music alive and avoiding becoming a tribute band.
