old punks on fire
So my second visit to the hairy dog in Derby, a great venue with some decent bands on, bands that seem to bypass Sheffield these days caught the last two songs by the support band so I will not pass judgement on them.No The reason for my second visit was to see one of the original punk bands from 1976 -1977.Chelsea I saw them many years ago in the early eighties and had bought their alternative hits album.but had not seen them until I saw them at sacarbrough punk festival this year they were good there.when I saw they were playing at the hairy dog a much smaller venue I just had to go. They were On form from the outset and as tight as hell.Belting out classic Chelsea songs including B sides Right to work, the loner, urban kids evacuate no flowers for him all delivered hard tight and loud the venue is great for punk its a bit like stepping back in time to when punk was on fire just like Chelsea tonight punk can only die if the attitude and passion die and that was not happening on Chelsea watch, what a great gig I loved every minute of it!
