About Christopher Owens
Singer-songwriter Christopher Owens is set to release a new album this year and you can hear his new tracks live in London on 19th November.
Owens started his musical career as the frontman and songwriter for indie band Girls. Girls formed in 2007 and went on to release two studio albums; 'Album' (2009) and 'Father, Son, Holy Ghost' (2011) plus one EP 'Broken Dreams Club' (2010). The band received critical acclaim for all of their releases and scored live slots of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan. While Girls were most certainly successful constant line-up changes within the group caused Owens to become more and more disheartened with the group and in 2012 announced he would be leaving the band to focus on his own music.
Christopher Owens first solo release came in the shape of 2013's 'Lysandre', which received largely positive receives from critics, but seemingly struggled to live up to the high standards set by his previous band's efforts. However, the record helped launch Owens solo sound and open the door for his new record 'A New Testament' (set for release in September 2014) to make a powerful impact.
