Solid Festival
I had a blast at Community Festival last year and was excited to go again. The opening two acts (SWMRS and Sea Girls) on the main stage were very good, and the crowd was more receptive to them than to the opening acts of last year. However, the sound wasn’t loud enough so at times it was difficult to hear the music. I then went to the second stage to see Bloxx and The Academic, which was in my opinion the peak of the festival. The next act I saw, Blossoms, was very disappointing. The vibe of their music didn’t match the other bands that were playing, they weren’t fun enough to be danced to but not sad enough to fill that void either. The rest of the crowd matched my dissatisfaction as many left during the set and those that stayed weren’t singing or dancing (bearing in mind I’m only 10 lines from the stage). The Kooks were lucky able to salvage the tail end of the festival with a very satisfying setlist. Overall very good aside from a disappointing Blossoms performance and technical difficulties at the beginning of the day.
