Legends
A simply fantastic night, each era of the bands best played expertly. It was worth the thirty year wait to finally see them.
There is no fancy light shows at a Neubauten gig, the spectacle of them making music is simply mesmerising.
UNFORGETTABLE

Not just for the hardcore...
This is the third time I've seen this group ('band' seems the wrong word somehow) and every time marks a progression. The 2017 edition of EB, fronted and orchestrated by the charismatic and frequently droll Blixa Bargeld, are serious and focused about their work without taking themselves too seriously. They display a cool mastery of a formidable dynamic range, all the way from breathy near-silence to thunderous peaks - always remaining in control of the moment. The standard rock instrumentation is augmented by an audacious variety of 'found', specially manufactured or plain unusual instruments. Blixa's distinctive voice is more of a croon these days, but still rises to impassioned heights on occasion.
Forget any clichés you may have formulated, or been fed, about this ensemble and its audience. This music is for anyone with a functioning pair of ears who is prepared to give committed artists a chance. You are likely to be pleasantly surprised - and possibly uplifted.
