Ghost Dance, Firebug, Leicester - 20th April 2024
The Unsilent Shout
I've seen the reformed Ghost Dance 3 times now, I wasn't of age to have originally seen them. This was a new line up with Anne-Marie and Tim Walker as the main two members. However this proved a blessing, new drummer was dynamic, bassist was tight, totally locked in with the drums and the new 2nd guitarist I had seen play with them at their acoustic show a while ago, he played and sung backing vocals well. Anne Marie's voice was amazing and she was totally nailing the songs and rocking out with the band and audience. They played songs off all 3 albums, new songs off Silent Shout are important for 2 reasons, 1: they are good songs, 2: that album (Silent Shout) ties the albums Gathering Dust and Stop the World together perfectly, they do this in the live set well. All I can say is that it was an amazing set and worth the hours travel from Nottingham to go and see. I kept to myself and Ghost Danced all night. I hope to see them again at some point.
