God Is An Astronaut is a post-rock band from County Wicklow, Ireland, renowned for their atmospheric soundscapes and instrumental prowess. Their debut album, The End of the Beginning (2002), featured the acclaimed singles "From Dust to the Beyond" and "Point Pleasant". They followed up with All Is Violent, All Is Bright (2005) and Ghost Tapes #10 (2021), and their latest title Embers (2024). The band has performed at prestigious venues like the O2 Academy Islington and supported acts such as Anathema and Explosions in the Sky on tour. Their latest album, Epitaph (2024), continues to captivate with its ethereal and powerful compositions.

sweet memories

Once I planned my long weekend in London it happened that GIAA actually scheduled a gig there. Couldn't miss it as I have already missed them a couple of times and closest was when I was visiting US. To my utter delight they decided to offer also some of their older material. So instead of listening to their last album , I had a dreamy trip through their best of :-) I like acoustics parameters of the place they played as I did not go deaf and actually, despite the number of guitars, I did not need any earplugs. Music? Awesome. Support? Very interesting, although it seems that sequencer is a popular device nowadays. Popular and self sufficient. Experience? Totally worth it.
