About Grandaddy
Witty, dark, warm and sardonic, Grandaddy create perfect lo-fi music that takes a swipe at the vacuous nature of modern life. They have recently emerged from hiatus by bringing out their new single Way We Won’t, their first new release for ten years. Their re-emergence has delighted both fans and critics.
Band members include drummer Aaron Burtch, singer Jason Lytle taking on guitar and keys, guitarist Jim Fairchild, keyboardist Tim Dryden and Kevin Garcia on bass.
“It’s a lot of fun. The differences are the obvious stuff - we’re definitely a lot fatter and a lot balder. I asked everyone if they’d be into getting back together, and everyone ended up being into it. That surprised me, and now it’s a case of just enjoying the ride.” - Jason Lytle
They have just announced new live dates which holds the enticing prospect of perhaps featuring even more new music from the enigmatic indie pop rock band. Their UK tour includes headlining at Albert Hall in Manchester, Rock City at Nottingham and Bristol’s Colston Hall during March and then Roundhouse in London during April of 2017.

The Californian band formed in 1992 and began producing a number of self released tracks such as the cassette Complex Party Come Along Theories plus singles Could This Be Love and Taster. Their debut album Under The Western Freeway would come out in 1997 and feature the single A.M. 180 which would later feature in the horror film 28 Days Later.
Singing to V2 Records, they released second album The Sophtware Slump. Fuelled by millennium tension, the album took a tense tone with moments of dark tenderness interspersed with brash guitar.
Their success continued with third album Sumday plus the latest album release to date; Just Like The Fambly Cat.
