Still rock'n'roll to me
A genuine rock'n'roll 78, like your mother used to play, Ian Hunter celebrated his birthday a couple of weeks but rocked the joint like a man of 45, 33 or even maybe 16. Time has done nothing but season Ian Hunter over the years. Still every bit as good as ever he was and a fantastic band. It seems cruel to single out band members but Mark Bosch on lead guitar and drummer Steve Holley (the latter now with Hunter for 30 years) are just perfect foils to Hunter's great compositions. The night whizzed by, memories came flooding back and yet the new Fingers Crossed album is easily a contender for best work Hunter has ever achieved. I love Ian Hunter. He IS rock'n'roll to me.
