Born Shawn Carter in 1969, the performer has racked up an impressive ten number one albums during his illustrious career and his popularity shows no sign of waning. He has also sold in excess of 70 million records and received a host of prestigious accolades, including 19 Grammy Awards. In 2006, MTV ranked him top in their list of the Greatest MCs of All Time. Three of the star’s LPs, ‘Reasonable Doubt’, ‘The Blueprint’ and ‘The Black Album’ featured in Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

In July 2013, the artist released his 12th studio album, ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’. His first UK number one album, it features guest appearances from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean and Beyoncé.
