About Jon Richardson

Jon Richardson is a much loved stand up comedian from Lancaster.

His first gig took place in 2003 at the BBC New Comedy Talent Search at which he won his heat. He went on to wow audiences around the UK and Ireland, and by the end of 2006 he had completed a 60 date tour with Alan Carr.

Much loved, Richardson makes regular appearances as a team captain on the ever popular Channel 4 series Stand Up For The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Channel 4 also delved deeper into what makes the comedian tick with the documentary Jon Richardson: A Little Bit OCD, for which he won a Mind Media award.

He has also been invited to make guest appearances on BBC2 programmes Have I Got News For You and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

No stranger to the radio, previously he enjoyed sharing a regular slot with fellow comedian Russell Howard every Sunday morning on BBC Radio 6. Since Howard’s subsequent departure Jon has remained as the sole host of the slot, now named The Jon Richardson Show.

He also regularly contributes to BBC Radio Five Live’s Fighting Talk, and has also featured on BBC Radio 2’s And The Winner Is and Act Your Age and The Museum Of Curiosity which are both broadcast on BBC Radio 4.

A talented writer, Richardson is the author of “It’s Not Me It’s You” which developed out of a valentine article he was commissioned to write for The Guardian’s Weekend Magazine.

He also stars in his very own DVD, Funny Magnet, capturing the comedians amazing performance at Shaftsbury Apollo.
