Genre bending band Yīn Yīn is the work of playful sonic adventurers Yves Lennertz and Kees Berkers who introduced with take on South East Asian psyche pop on their first full length record The Rabbit that Hunts Tigers.

With news of new album The Age of Aquarius comes the announcement of a tour – scroll down to check out the headline dates and book tickets with Gigantic.

Yīn Yīn hop and bound along, being whisked up by the pure joy of their experimentation, unafraid to see how far from home it takes them...eccentric, boundary-bashing, genre-melding groove.” – The Line of Best Fit

Founded by Kees Berkers, also known as the drummer of Baby Galaxy, and Bounty Island guitarist Yves Lennertz: Maastricht based band Yīn Yīn were quick to gain international interest, thanks to their unique fusion of Asianic influences with dreamy psyche and disco vibes.

In 2019, they dropped acclaimed debut album The Rabbit that Hunts Tigers via Bongo Joe Records, which marked the arrival of a unique sound

Last year, they returned with new song “Nautilus”; an introduction to their second album The Age of Aquarius that sees the Dutch sonic explorers go further afield into greater uncharted experimental territory.

Inspired by the wild nightlife and DIY parties of their hometown, the hedonism of Maastricht plays centre stage and fed directly into both the writing and recording of their latest material. It made the pair release they needed to also expand from a pairing and make Yīn Yīn a full band.

When we put it [the recorded session] out on tape, the reactions were very positive. So, we decided to do a live show in Maastricht. We asked our musical friends to help us out, and from that night on we became a full band: with Remy Scheren on bass, Robbert Verwijlen on keys and Jerome Cardynaals and Gino Bombrini on percussion.” – Yves Lennertz
