Beach House – Once Twice Melody
Maryland dream pop duo Beach House return with their gorgeous eighth album Once Twice Melody. The eighteen new atmospheric tracks were taped at Pachyderm studio in Cannon Falls, MN, United Studio in Los Angeles, CA, and Apple Orchard Studios in Baltimore, MD and produced entirely by the band who used a live string ensemble for the first time.
The results are truly staggering, meaning the record is as immersive as their live performances as Victoria Legrand (vocals/keys) and Alex Scally (vocals/guitar) explore themes of escapism.
“We believe made a world for people to enter into - kind of a literary, filmic world. And who knows if we’ve succeeded, but that was the intention - to create somewhere that people can fully enter, and find a place there.” – Alex Scally
Beach House show off Once Twice Melody with a special show at Manchester Academy, taking place on Tuesday 24th of May – tickets on sale with Gigantic.
📆 May 2022
24/05 Beach House – Academy, Manchester
Beach House tickets are available with Gigantic.
Tomberlin – “happy accident”
Enigmatic songwriter (Sarah Beth) Tomberlin drops her dark and captivating new single “happy accident” on which the Floridian songwriter tries to find clarity amidst the confusion of getting to know someone.
“‘happy accident’ is a song about relational obscurity. Trying to sort out who you are or who you were to someone. Is this relationship romantic or is it just sex? Do you want to spend time with me or are you just bored? Do I make my own decisions that are good for me or are my decisions predominantly based on what I think you might want or need? I was kind of walking through moments in previous relationships in my life. I wanna know why someone wants to get to know me. Do you want to know me or just your idea of me? Do I want to know you or just my idea of you?”
“happy accident” appears on Tomberlin’s newly announced album I Don’t Know Who Needs To Hear This… which she takes out on tour in Spring. CLICK HERE to pre-order.
