A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE SONGS

“Eusexua” – FKA Twigs

The first taste of her forthcoming third album, the title track “Eusexua” is an ethereal introduction to FKA Twigs’ new material. The rest of the record is expected to be heavily centred around techno, inspired by the innovative artist relocating to Prague and becoming immersed in the Czech dance scene.

“a bulleT w- my namE On (feat. Underoath)” – Bring Me The Horizon

Sheffield metalcore legends Bring Me The Horizon team up with three-time Grammy nominated post-hardcore greats Underoath for “a bulleT w- my namE On”. Fusing hyper-pop and hard-rock, the heartbroken song details the death of a toxic relationship. It can be found on the POST HUMAN: NeX GEn project album which also includes collaborations with Aurora,  Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo.

“The Fire at the Centre of the Earth is Mine” – Orange Goblin

Stoner-metal stalwarts Orange Goblin are back with “The Fire at the Centre of the Earth is Mine” as featured on their tenth LP Science, Not Fiction. Lyricist Ben Ward takes an unflinching look at the causes of ruin and destruction but offers the hope that humanity can choose another path: “We can’t change our past, but as the rest of the world is seemingly falling apart, we all have a chance to change our future”

“Maxine (Witch Queen)” – Green Lung

Sounding like the perfect 8-bit game soundtrack, “Maxine (Witch Queen)” by Green Lung is packed full of the promise of adventure. The occult-obsessed London-based rockers shred the guitar like their afterlives depend on it as they celebrate the endeavours of Chesire pagan witch Maxine Sanders, the co-founder of Alexandrian Wicca.

“Stick Season” – Noah Kahan

“Stick Season” by Noah Kahan tugs at the heartstrings as the Vermont folk singer-songwriter unpacks all the emotions triggered by that cosey period just after Halloween just before the snow starts for winter.

“Stick Season” became a viral hit on TikTok and was covered by Olivia Rodrigo on BBC Radio 1, causing a resurgence in interest and sending the single to the top of the charts in multiple countries including the UK.

“Goatbrain” – Goat

Swedish psyche-rockers Goat funk it up on new single “Goatbrain”. Tribal rhythms are met with 80s hip-hop beats and stabbing Eastern guitars in a true fusion of international sounds soon to be heard on their eagerly awaited eponymous sixth album.

“Nosedive ft. Lainey Wilson” – Post Malone

Rapper Post Malone picks up the six-string and embraces the country vibes on the emotionally charged “Nosedive”. The superstar is joined by the multi–Country Music Association Award winner Lainey Wilson who lends her incredible vocals to perfect the sepia-tinged song.

“Ride a White Swan” – T. Rex

“Ride a White Swan” sees Marc Bolan transition from psyche-folk singer-songwriter to evolving into the glam-rock monster we all know and love. It was the debut T. Rex single (following on from the acoustic-led Tyrannosaurus Rex) and saw the marriage of surrealist lyrics with honky-tonk electric guitar for the first time. This unique flair saw the star posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

“Further Complications” – Jarvis Cocker

Jarvis Cocker’s second solo album Further Complications saw the Pulp frontman team up with the now late, great Steve Albini. The famed engineer (Albini would always furiously deny he was a producer) applies his signature raw sound to a confessional title track that sees the indie icon explore his curious need to constantly put himself through the mill.

“Devil’s Pool” – Beach House

Last year saw the release of dynamic dream-pop duo Beach House’s latest EP Become. The remarkable five-track record contained the haunting song “Devil’s Pool” which recalls the delicate glacial beauty of Cocteau Twins, the vulnerable vocals of Hope Sandoval and the sublime chic of The Velvet Underground.

“No One Noticed” – The Marias

Lose yourself in the hypnotic sound of The Marias. Woozy single “No One Noticed” restores the human connection in the digital age, rejecting online exchanges for a direct relationship with people and the natural world. Touch grass, press play and make a real connection with the wider community.

“Party Sized Away Day (feat. Maria Uzor)” – Acid Klaus

Renegade electronica artist Adrian Flanagan AKA Acid Klaus enlists the uber cool Maria Uzor for “Party Sized Away Day”. This stripped-down disco track with house influences feels like a lost 80s Chicago warehouse party classic.

We recently spoke to Adrian ahead of his tour to speak about his influences and previous collaborations with the likes of Maxine Peake, Mark E. Smith, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce. CLICK HERE to read Interview With: Acid Klaus.
