Self Esteem

It's been a goal of mine to catch a Self Esteem headline show for almost a year now. The pop powerhouse has been continuing her rise to stardom following the release of her acclaimed, Mercury Prize nominated album Prioritise Pleasure in October last year. In support, her UK tour continues to grow bigger and bigger as dates continue to sell out. I was lucky enough to catch Self Esteem at Victorious Festival back in August, and it left me hungry for more.

This spring I'll be seeing Self Esteem at Nottingham's iconic Rock City, and while this show - amongst many others - is sold out, there are still a few tickets remaining for her homecoming show in Sheffield on Tuesday 21st of March 2023.Sarah Moore – Head of Marketing

Alex G

I really like Alex G and sadly missed him when he was at Bodega last time around but I’m particularly looking forward to this show after the release “God Save the Animals” this year. It has such a hopeful feel to it & I really connected with it from the first listen - I have been absolutely rinsing it.  I cannot wait to belt Runner & Miracles in Rescue Rooms this March!Jimi Mack – Event Manager

Confidence Man

Indie diskos can too often be drab affairs, with po-faced shoegazers moping around to angsty tunes with intermittent bursts of OTT macho aggro courtesy of Manchester obsessed blokes stuck in an irrelevant time warp. Everyone once in a while, a band strikes like a lightning bolt out of nowhere to electrify the dancefloor – the latest of such sensational shocks has been Australian electro two-piece Confidence Man.

A million miles away from lumpenproletariat baggy anthems, dim-witted eagerly commercial landfill indie and the glut of increasingly uniform cheese wire post punk; Janet Planet (Grace Stephenson) and Sugar Bones (Aidan Moore) bring a huge energy to the stage via incredibly slick self-choreographed dancing, and their unique take on indie dance and 90’s house is guaranteed to blow your mind. Bring on the Rock City gig!!Jimi Arundell – Web Content Manager.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

I've seen King Gizz once before at Rock City and I've loved them for years. It's always a very sweaty very fun show. They birth albums at such a rate, (3 in October alone) no one else is doing it like them. They are fun and silly, psychedelic and funky but also thrash and go hard and hey, I like that!

I'll be taking the trip down to O2 Academy Brixton which is always a hoot!|Bethan Boast – Digital Marketing Executive
