The Last Dinner Party – Octagon Centre, Sheffield (25th September 2024)

The Last Dinner Party Tickets

TLDP Perfection

Really enjoyed The Last Dinner Party. I previously had booked for Hammersmith Apollo but had a quick look to see if any tickets were available for the Octagon, my local gig. To my great joy, I managed to buy the only two that were available.

Love the Octagon, it’s the right place to see new music. We had an amazing night watching this fantastic band perform the album in full plus a few extras. Can’t wait to do it all over again in London.

Buying tickets from Gigantic was easy and also cheaper.

The Mission – The Picturedrome, Holmfirth (20th September 2024)

We were impressed with this intimate venue in the heart of Holmfirth. Nearby parking was easy (and free). There were great food and drink outlets all around The Picturedrome (which are well worth a return visit). There were seating options in the venue on the balcony.

And, of course, The Mission were spot on playing all the hits and more. Hopefully, they will be back here soon. Well done everyone (including Gigantic for the easy transaction)

Tyketto – The Garage, Glasgow (19th September 2024)

Tyketto Tickets

Worth Waiting For!

Amazing gig in Glasgow! I’ve waited for over 20 years to see Tyketto in the flesh and they didn’t disappoint. They were so tight and didn’t put a note wrong all night. Some favourites and some songs that don’t get aired so often made for a great night.

The band were energised and engaged with the audience which made the experience fantastic. “Last Sunset” and “Seasons” were amazing and, of course, the one we were waiting for at the end “Forever Young”.

The icing on the cake was to have Little Caesar fire on all cylinders too making a great night of nostalgia and why we all love this type of music whether in the 90’s 00’s or beyond. Danny’s vocals were up there with the best of all time. See you next time in Glasgow!

Asgeir – Union Chapel, London (24th September 2024)

Asgeir Tickets

Superb Icelandic Duo Sparkled

Brilliant gig featuring the beautiful GDRN and the fantastic Asgeir Trausti. GDRN was elegant and charming, performing numerous songs in Icelandic and English, finishing with a classy Portishead cover which highlighted her great voice and adaptability. Multilingual, actress, musician, model and former semi-pro sportswoman, GDRN has many talents and delivers an excellent musical set.

The main act, Asgeir, was also superb, delivering Icelandic and English versions of his musical catalogue. A super-talented musician and singer-songwriter, he captivated the audience with his beautiful folk-pop tunes, playing guitar and keyboards whilst also sequencing drums and percussion throughout. He was joined for a couple of tracks by GDRN's guitarist who added a lovely extra layer of sound to his already wonderfully textured music.

His voice was superb throughout - sometimes fragile, sometimes powerful but at all times emotive and melodic, complementing the other instruments perfectly. He captivated the audience, earning massive standing ovations both before and after his encore, seemingly surprising him somewhat and leaving him quite emotional it appeared. He deserved the adulation. He was superb all evening and provided a great gig for his congregation (literally, the gig was in a church!)

I highly recommend both of these artists, both live and via the various media available. The venue was good too. Personal and cosy with a good sound quality and facilities. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommended!
