Iconic amusement park Dreamland in Margate opens its doors to a huge range of rock, pop and dance greats for a massive summer of outdoor music events. Look forward to enjoying unmissable headline performances from such esteemed acts as Jess Glynne, IDLES, James Arthur and more!

The Kentish landmark first opened in the 19th century and was later renamed Dreamland in 1920. The rides include the Scenic Railway wooden rollercoaster which is a Grade II listed building, and the site was redeveloped in 2015 with further improvements made two years later.

The recent years have seen the tourist attraction transformed into a concert venue. Previous spectacular shows have included such stars as Tom Jones, Biffy Clyro, McFly, Lucy Spraggan and james have all graced their Scenic Stage and 2024 is set to be an even bigger year.

The chat-topping drum and bass group get ready to play a DJ set at Dreamland

Premier drum and bass band Rudimental will take over Dreamland for an evening of electrifying live music. The MOBO Award winners have dominated the charts with their Mercury-nominated debut No. 1 album Home and hits like "Bloodstream" and "Feel The Love". The decorated group won a BRIT Award for Best British Single with “Waiting All Night" and were shortlisted for Best New Act, and Best UK and Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Simple Minds

The post-punk pioneers enduring appeal never diminishes

Scottish art-rock band Simple Minds burst onto the scene in the 1980s, bridging the gap between critical acclaim and commercial success. Their impressive career earned them the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors. They are best known for their smash hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)".

This summer, they will be joined by very special guests Del Amitri at Dreamland. Tickets are on sale now through Gigantic.

Catch the Ibiza party vibes at Dreamland

Craig David first gained attention with his feature on the Artful Dodger single "Re-Rewind." This marked the beginning of his rise as the king of UK Garage, leading to over 15 million albums sold worldwide and hit singles like "Fill Me In" and "7 Days", both of which reached No. 1, along with "What's Your Flava?", "All the Way" and "Walking Away."

Julian Marley & The Uprising

Reggae has never sound so good

Julian Marley stirs the soul with his evocative take on reggae music. His record releases include Lion in the Morning (1996), A Time & Place (2003), Awake (2009) and As I Am (2019). This year has seen the star win a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for Colors of Royal, written and recorded in collaboration with Antaeus.

Sam Ryder became a TikTok online sensation posting covers during the lockdown. His star has continued to rise, representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with "Space Man" as featured on his No. 1 debut album There's Nothing but Space, Man! Deacon Blue

The world-renowned Glasgow pop-rock group hit the stage once again

Scottish pop-rock band Deacon Blue formed in 1985 and went on to see over six million albums worldwide. Their second LP, When the World Knows Your Name, topped the UK charts for two weeks in 1989. Hit singles include their Top 10 entry "Real Gone Kid" which was shortlisted for British Single of the Year by the British Phonographic Industry, "Dignity" and "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" with a further nine titles breaking into the Top 40.

Indie icon Richard Ashcroft gained fame as the frontman of 90s Britpop stars The Verve, crafting monumental anthems like "Bitter Sweet Symphony" and the No. 1 hit "The Drugs Don't Work." The Ivor Novello-winning songwriter has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest British songwriters of his generation with platinum-selling albums Alone with Everybody and Keys to the World and anthems “A Song for the Lovers" and "Break the Night with Colour".

IDLES

The Bristol band celebrate trooping the charts at Margate

IDLES have collaborated with longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to craft their fifth album Tangk. This record takes a more soulful direction than their previous work, with singer Joe Talbot exploring the nature of love and friendship whilst the band playfully experimented with a deconstructed take on post-punk.

This marks the beginning of a more mature phase for the outspoken positive punks which was a hit with critics and fans alike, hitting No. 1 upon release earlier this year. The call is raised for fans to flock to Dreamland this summer.

Hip-hop legends The Roots and De La Soul have announced a huge co-headline show at Dreamland this summer. The major music event takes place on Friday 2nd August 2024 with tickets now on sale with Gigantic.

The Roots boast four Grammy wins and have been ranked seventh on ThoughCo’s list of the 25 Best Hip-Hop Groups of All-Time.

New York group De La Soul are renowned for evolving jazz-rap and expanding hip-hop into exciting new realms. They joined forces with Gorillaz for their Grammy-winning single "Feel Good Inc."

New Zealand’s finest dub, reggae and techno fusion outfit heads to the UK

Busted

The ultimate pop-punk boy band play Dreamland in August

James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson combined to become Busted in 2000. The trio immediately attracted a loyal following thanks to their energetic onstage presence and catchy hook-laden singles "What I Go to School For", "Year 3000" and their first No. 1 "You Said No".

The pop-punk trio released multi-platinum titles Busted and A Present for Everyone, selling more than 5 million records worldwide and winning two BRIT Awards before entering a hiatus to pursue other projects.

DJ Spoony

A huge night of UK-garage on the southeast coast

Hackney-born UK-Garage legend DJ Spoony (AKA Johnathan Joseph) helped elevate the genre from the underground to become a mainstream phenomenon. Teaming up with Mikee B and Timmi Magic, the trio became the Dreem Team and popularised their pioneering sound on the pirate radio station London Underground in the 90s.

DJ Spoony was first embraced by Kiss 100, then BBC Radio 1 and later BBC Radio 5 Live, proving his vast appeal. He released his Garage Classical album in 2019 and held DJ residencies in top clubs in Ibiza and Ayia Napa for over a decade.

Becky Hill

The chart-topping star heads to Dreamland this summer

Dance-pop star Becky Hill has risen from being a contestant on The Voice UK to global fame. After hitting No. 1 after lending her vocals to Oliver Heldens for "Gecko (Overdrive)", Hill went on to team up with David Guetta on "Remember", winning British Song of the Year and Best Dance Act at the 2022 BRIT Awards. She would again win the Best Dance trophy the following year.

Hill broke the Top 10 with her gold-selling debut album Only Honest on the Weekend and has just dropped her second offering Believe Me Now? which she shows off at Dreamland this summer.
