Born and raised in Bariga Lagos State, he began his music career professionally in 2010, when he worked with ID Cabasa's Coded Tunes record to release his debut single ‘Eni Duro’ and his debut studio album in 2011 titled ‘Rapsodi’.
The following year, he started his own record label ‘YBNL Nation’ and released his 2nd album ‘YBNL’ in November 2012 under his imprint YBNL Nation. The album had hit singles ‘First of All’, ‘Voice of the Streets.
In 2017, Olamide released his seventh studio album ‘Lagos Nawa” which had the smash street anthem “Wo”.
