Paramore is an alternative rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2004 by members Hayley Williams (vocals), Josh Farro (guitar), Jason Bynum (guitar), Jeremy Davis (bass), and Zac Farro (drums), the band released their debut album All We Know Is Falling in 2005.
Undergoing several line-up changes throughout their career, Williams remains the only member of the band to feature on each of their studio albums. While brothers Josh and Zac Farro initially left the band in 2010, Zac re-joined the rock outfit in 2017 prior to the release of their fifth studio album After Laughter. Childhood friend Taylor York began as a touring member of Paramore in 2007, and was formally introduced as a permanent band member and songwriter from 2009.
Paramore have enjoyed huge commercial success throughout their career, releasing several chart-topping albums (including self-titled Paramore in 2013 and This Is Why in 2023) and collecting a number of awards and accolades. In 2024, they won their third Grammy Award with album This Is Why.
Initially one of the pioneering bands of the mid-00s emo and pop-punk scene, Paramore have been heralded for their ability to adapt and evolve their sound, with a variety of musical influences ranging from punk and alternative, to R&B and indie rock.
