About PJ Harvey

PJ Harvey is absolutely peerless and is amongst the world’s most important contemporary musical artists. Songwriter, poet, composer and proficient multi-instrumental, she has released eleven highly acclaimed studio albums and continues to shape the cultural landscape in her own image.

Her hard work, enduring commitment to her art and sheer talent has seen her become highly decorated and has earned her eight Brit Award nominations, six Grammy Award Nominations and has won the highly prestigious Mercury Music Prize twice, the only person ever to do so, whilst also enjoying a further two nominations.

Polly Jean Harvey first began her work as a member of the Bristol band Automatic Dlamini before becoming a solo artist. He outstanding work includes her 1992 debut album Dry, the spectacular 1998 record Is This Desire, Uh Huh Her released in 2004 and the audacious 2001 record Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea which saw her win the Mercury Music Prize.

In 2011 Harvey released Let England Shake. Her eight studio album saw an introspective shift that was largely centred around the piano. Bold, commanding and compelling, the album was listed in scores of well-respected publications Best Of Albums lists plus again winning the illustrious Mercury Music Prize and the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album.

Her latest release was the album The Hope Six Demolition Project which came out in April of 2016. The record takes its name from the HOPE VI projects in America which have seen entire neighbourhoods deemed squalid and crime ridden levelled - only to be replaced by new housing that the original residents cannot possibly afford to rent or buy. The record is Harvey’s first ever #1 album in the UK Charts.
