Formed in 1990, Quicksand's career has been turbulent to say the least with splits in 1995 and 1999, but in 2012 the band reunited for the third time to the delight of alt rockers everywhere.

With a popular sound reminiscent of Fugazi and Helment, the band signed to Polydor Records and released their debut album 'Slip' in 1993. The album landed the band a tour with The Offspring, which helped to launch them outside of America. Their follow-up record 'Manic Compression' built on the previous album's success and hit the #135 spot on the Billboard 200 Chart in the US. Despite the success the band's relentless touring schedule leaded to immense stresses and resulted in the group's first break-up.

Quicksand reunited in 1997 and after successful tour stints with the likes of Deftones the band hit the studio for their highlight anticipated third album. Unfortunately the old ghosts of 1995 resurfaced and the band once again disbanded leaving all of the music laid down for the record to be abandoned.

In 2012 the original members appeared out of no-where for a performance at the Revelation Records 25th Anniversary in California, which was the first time the band had been on stage together in around 13 years. Needless to say this third reunion got fans excited, but also asking a lot of questions; would we get to hear the tracks from the 1997 sessions? Would the band finally record a follow-up to 'Manic Compression'? A Twitter post in July 2013 provided a glimmer of hope as a picture (that was soon taken down) of the band in the studio surfaced online, but until a record is confirmed publicly, we'll all just have to wait and see.
