Brill Quill!
Quill were clearly glad to be back onstage after the Covid period. They played a great set of their own material interspersed with well selected covers including some from their forthcoming Midland Beat album. The crowd were enthusiastic giving an energetic atmosphere. It was made all the better for having their old pals Phil and Jo Bates in the audience. But the highlight had to be the fact that the Move's very own Ace Kefford was in attendance!! Never thought I'd see the day! Let's hope that hints of a 2024 return for Quill come to pass.

Quill - THE 50th ANNIVERSARY FINALE, The Robin, Wolverhampton - 12th October 2023
Music from the Midlands
The only thing I disliked was the waiting for Quill to come on to the stage, as there was no support waiting around for a hour and half is very boring and the majority of the audience is over 60 with few seats available is a bit much. They did a short first set (40 mins) then had over 30 mins break. The second set was very good but then they went over time. Music is always very good by Quill I have been watching them for over 40 years. I just wish they had planned the timing better and they would have been able to chat to their fans properly rather then being rushed.
