Based around by Mark Jeffrey Myers/Keds and Morgan Nicholls relationship, the childhood friends started the band on 1987 having worked together in previous bands. Taking inspiration for their name from Shakespear’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, they began writing new material.

They released debut album Postcard CV two years later. A flurry of energy condensing their exciting live shows into ten tracks that last 22 minutes in total. It contained the band’s signature song Too Much Kissing.
Following an abortive EP which failed to be released after the label collapsed, the released another EP Is It Too Late?

They released second album entitled The First OF Too Many in 1991 followed by Empire Of The Senseless which would prove to be their greatest commercial hit. Taking Care Of Business was released in 1995.
