About SKIA
Equipped with an audacious batch of fjord-beat bangers, Norwegian alt-pop innovator SKIA announces her arrival with dazzling debut single ‘Anyone’, set for release January 29th via Heist or Hit (Her’s, Pizzagirl, Nature TV).
Partnering up with the cult indie label as they shift into Scandipop territory, SKIA’s medicating sound, filled with sick beats, glacial synths and melodic nutrients, reinterprets the acoustic foundation of songs like an electro architect to arrive at an exhilarating juxtaposition.
Produced in her adopted hometown of Liverpool, SKIA (the project of Annie Norbye) has successfully immersed herself in the city’s ever-thriving underground scene and will be playing her debut live show at The Kazimier Stock Room on February 21st, with several additional dates lined up ahead of her debut EP release this summer.
Explaining the origins of the track, SKIA revealed: “I wrote ‘Anyone’ a couple of years ago with one of my favourite co-writers Silvan Rupp, and we were lucky enough to work on it in a one-on-one session with Paul McCartney. It’s about encouraging you to be confident and fully believe in what you want to be doing, so I took my own advice and ultimately decided to release the song as my debut single, and hope that it will inspire and empower listeners too”.
