About Slow Club

Slow Club are an English boy-girl duo formed in Sheffield in 2006. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor playing piano and drums. The pair both play guitar and share vocals. Known for their thrilling gigs, the band draw ever greater crowds attracted by their amazing live performances.

They see the year out by playing at awesome Sheffield club Plug on Friday 8th of December 2018.




The band burst on to the scene when they released two 7" singles in 2007, "Because We're Dead" and "Me and You", both on the ultra-cool label Moshi Moshi Records.

The duo put out their debut album 'Yeah So' in July 2009, which was soon followed by their EP 'Christmas, Thanks For Nothing' in December 2009. Slow Club's second album 'Paradise' hit stores in 2012 and the video for their single 'Beginners' picked up worldwide attention due to it featuring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe. Watson and Taylor put out their third full length 'Complete Surrender' in July 2014 which was followed by ‘I Swam Out To Greet You’ in May 2015.

Fans were not disappointed by the release of their stunning new album ‘One Day All Of This Won’t Matter Anymore’ in summer if 2016. Working with American producer Matthew E White, the album was recorded at the producers Spacebomb Studios and features the single ‘Ancient Rolling Sea’.

This song felt as though it just did not want to arrive for a long long time,” said Watson when speaking about the new single. “I worked on the music for the whole time we were writing, and the words just landed at the last minute. With the approach I took on lyrics I wanted it to be more conversational. I wanted it to be direct, as if it were being whispered in your ear.
