About Taking Back Sunday
Emo rock band Taking Back Sunday and are ready to hit the UK once again! The band members currently comprise of drummer Mark O’ Connell, lead guitar by John Nolan with Eddie Reyes playing rhythm guitar, lead vocals provided by Adam Lazzara and Shaun Cooper on bass. Now the band are poised to release the seventh studio album Tidal Wave.
Taking Back Sunday were first formed in 1999 by Reyes who, as somewhat of a veteran of the Long Island scene, was looking for a new project. Taking inspiration for the name from the song title from the work of a friend’s band, he recruited his collaborators and set about writing. They announced their arrival with the release of an eponymously titled six track EP the next year.
Their debut album Tell All Your Friends was released in 2002 after signing to Victory Records. It initially enjoyed modest success, however after gruelling tours playing many prominent support slots their profile rose. It has subsequently been certified Gold with worldwide sales of over 790,000 copies. By the time the released second album Where You Want To Be in 2004 their name had been so successfully spread that they sold 163,000 copies in the first week.
This rise in success did not go unnoticed and they were signed to major label Warner Bros. Records with whom they released the mega selling albums Louder Now (2006), New Again (2009) and Taking Back Sunday (2011). Happiness Is was released in 2014 through the label Hopeless.
This September they release their brand new record Tidal Wave. To promote the highly anticipated album they will be playing the new material.
