About Tall Ships
Experimental indie rockers Tall Ships came to the fore with the release of the single Plate Tectonics. Incisive and intelligent, the band write exciting songs that resonate with their keen ever growing fan base.
The band members include drummer Jamie Bush, singer and guitarist Ric Phthen with Matt Parker on bass. Based in Brighton, the formed in 2009 whilst studying in University at Falmouth.
”I think there’s nothing worse than vacuous lyrics. I think there’s a worrying trend at the moment in a lot of music where lyrically it’s all kind of empty, and singing about stuff that doesn’t mean anything to them. Every word I sing I believe in. If I didn’t believe in it then I just wouldn’t sing it.” - Ric Phthen
With the upcoming release of new album Impressions through Fatcat Records in February of 2017 they have live dates to promote the new material. See them make headline performances at The Bullingdon in Oxford, The Cookie at Leicester, Bristol’s Louisiana and The Haunt in vibrant Brighton during March, 2017.
