About War of the Worlds
Based on the rule breaking and innovative H.G Well’s novel War of The Worlds, Jeff Wayne’s musical version is a well loved and historic piece of theatre.
The musical was written in 1978 and is one of the most successful pieces of writing ever to have been created and is often lorded by the likes of Spielberg as one of the greatest scores ever written. Its won countless awards, entertained thousands and sold millions of copies.
The final arena tour of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of War of the Worlds features some spectacular stars and theatrical moments.
Jeff Wayne is conducting, Liam Neeson appears in 3D holography, Jason Donovan stars as well as Westlife’s Brian McFadden, Les Miserables’ Carrie Hope Fletcher makes an appearance alongside the 36 piece ULLAAdubULLA strings and the 9-piece Black Smoke Band which is all topped off by remarkable special effects - including an incredible 3-tonne 35 foot tall Martian Fighting Machine which fires real flames at the audience. Add all of that together and you get a truly unique musical that is sure to entertain those of all ages.
Put all of these magical elements together with a score influenced by prog rock and string orchestras and you have a truly unique musical experience.
